Buying for someone who camps is harder than it looks. They already own the basics, they're fussy about what earns a place in the car, and the big-ticket items depend on sizes and fittings you probably can't check without asking.

Camping gifts under £20
Small gifts work best when they solve a niggle the camper keeps meaning to fix. These all fit in a stocking.
Mini Waterproof Rechargeable Light, £12. A palm-sized light that hangs inside a tent or awning from its hook. It gives up to 100 lumens, runs for up to 14 hours on its standard setting and is rated IP67, so rain is not a problem. It charges by USB, which means no more hunting for batteries.
Kids Blanko®, £19. Our children's Blanko is 160 x 130cm, lined with Sherpa fleece and backed with water-resistant polyester. Loops and clips let them wear it as a cape or poncho, which is usually how it gets used around the campsite.
Gecko 250 Mummy Sleeping Bag, £18. A 2 to 3 season mummy bag with a drawstring hood. It packs into a compression sack at 29 x 19cm, so it suits a festival, a teenager's first trip or a spare bag for visitors.
30 Litre Rucksack, £17.50. A showerproof 600D polyester daysack with padded straps and an internal laptop sleeve. It works as well on the commute as it does on a walk from the campsite.

This is the sweet spot for most camping gifts: the upgrades people want but rarely buy for themselves.

You can set the light anywhere from cool to warm white, it runs for up to 75 hours on its lowest setting, and its 5200mAh battery can charge a phone. It's IPX4 splash resistant, so it belongs under the awning rather than out in the rain.

High Pressure Rechargeable Air Pump, £69. For anyone with an air tent or inflatable awning who still pumps by hand. Set the pressure on the digital display and it stops automatically when it gets there, up to 20 PSI. It runs from its own battery or a 12V car socket. Always use the inflation pressure stated in their tent or awning instructions.
